Business Customer Incentive Program Overview
What is the Business Custom Incentive Program?
The CitizensEnergy Savers program, brought to you by Citizens Gas, works to assist eligible customers in the management of natural gas consumption through energy saving tips and financial rewards. The Business Custom Incentive Program is designed to help business customers make smart, energy efficient decisions that reduce gas consumption and operating costs. It offers incentives of up to $25,000 for qualified projects. Services include third-party technical and financial assistance for qualifying equipment not covered under the current rebate program.
Who is eligible to participate in the Business Custom Incentive Program?
General Service Heating and Non-Heating Rates D3 and D4 interested in implementing high efficiency natural gas projects that are not covered under the prescriptive rebate program are eligible. To verify your eligibility, please contact the CitizensEnergySavers program Contact Center at (800) 203-1856.
Examples of Eligible Business Custom Projects include:
- Heat recovery projects
- Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) and domestic water heating system control projects
- Outside air control
- Insulation
- Infrared heaters
What are the Business Custom Project’s Program Highlights?
Custom incentives encourage smart energy efficiency decisions for natural gas equipment purchases. Here’s how you can benefit:
- Project costs covered up to 30%
- Incentives up to a maximum of $25,000
- Significantly reduced energy costs improve your bottom line
How do I apply for a Business Custom Project Incentive?
- FIRST, contact Design-Aire Engineering (DAE) for eligibility. Please call (317) 464-9090.
- Be prepared to obtain information required to determine potential energy savings associated with the project to determine financial incentive. If a vendor or contractor has already estimated energy savings, this can speed up the custom incentive process; if not, DAE can assist you in determining potential savings.
- DAE will complete the necessary grant application paperwork and you will receive a response in as few as 10 working days after the project details have been determined.
- Once the potential incentive is approved, you will receive a Custom Project Incentive Application Request which you will need to sign and provide to DAE. After receipt of the signed application, DAE will notify you that your project may begin.
Upon project completion, a Custom Project Completion Incentive Request must be signed and submitted with the appropriate invoice documentation. A check will be processed and mailed to you within approximately eight weeks of receipt of the Incentive Request Form.
